Alyssa was the class "star" this week!
She has been waiting for this for a while, so she was excited when she got to bring home the backpack. We had to fill it with five items that she likes or that represent her; and five pictures of our lives together. She took a picture of me and her, her and Dan, her and Hannah, her and Sleeping Beauty from her birthday and a picture of her at dance camp last summer. Then she filled the backpack with her Bible, Sing and Glow Rapunzel, a tennis ball, her water baby, and a ladybug beanie baby ball. Those things stayed at school all week and each day she got to share one with the class and tell what it means to her.
The class also gets to tell her why the love her. After being traced on a big piece of paper each classmate gets to attach a note that has a picture they drew and something they like about her on it. She is so proud of this, that it is hanging on her closet door!
Some of the things the kids wrote are hilarious and some are so sweet. Some of my favorites are:
- "She is quiet in the hall."
- "She keeps her hands to herself."
- "She is good at playing tag."
- "She is a good artist and sings good."
- "She is a great friend."
It may have only been a week in the spotlight at school, but she is always a star of the week at home!
