So nice to meet you! This is my blog.
Nothing formal, just a blog about my family and our daily life together...and maybe a few of the things I am learning!
My husband, Dan, is my best friend. We've been married for 13 years and are living the 'American Dream'. We have two beautiful daughters: Alyssa and Hannah, a hypoallergenic schnoodle and a house in small lakeside town. While we experience ALL four seasons, Summer is {by far} the best on the lake.
I used to be a middle school and high school teacher. For 10 years, I taught Family and Consumer Sciences and LOVED it! However, when my school cut the program, our lives were flipped upside down. Little did we know my school would recall my position just 6 months later, but it hasn't been the same since. So for now, I continue to teach. Someday that will change...
We haven't always lived by the water. In fact, this is a new adventure for us. Until a tear ago, we lived in the same city in Central Ohio we were born and raised in. Dan also used to be a teacher, but God had different plans for us. Now, he is in full time ministry...which is what led us to our little lakeside town. We try daily to live out the call of Jesus on our lives and we bleed Scarlet and Gray!!

I started this blog almost 7 years ago for for my daughters. As much as I love to scrapbook, I just don't have the time. I didn't want to miss out recording important milestones and memories in the girls' lives and writing has always been a creative outlet for me, so this blog was born. A few years in, I began thinking a lot about our blog and what the girls will take from it when they are grown. Someday they will be wives and mothers...in the exact same place I am now. Measuring themselves against the same impossible standards I am today. Then I thought, "How can I use this blog now to relate to them, encourage them and help them through what they will probably be doing 20-30 years from now?"
So I decided to put myself into the blog, as a mom...and not just the narrator telling about events. Just some stuff I am learning and how I am fighting for grace as a wife, mom, teacher, daughter, friend and follower of Jesus. I never dreamed I would write it for an audience beyond our family...or that it would last more than a month. But, I really enjoy sharing our stories...even if it is only Dan who read it. Who knows, maybe I can even make some new friends and relate with other moms along the way...
We love living life together and hope this peek inside our daily 'mess' can bring a smile to your face and remind you that we are all less than perfect, but immensely blessed!
