Thanksgiving Feast

Aly's school had a Thanksgiving Feast before the holiday and I went in to help out her class. It was ADORABLE!! Her class was one of the Indian groups and and her teachers were Pilgrims. They feasted on raisins, popcorn, goldfish, corn bread and pumpkin bread...Aly, of course, only ate the popcorn! I forgot my good camera, but I got these with my phone!!

Our Indian Princess :)

We have sooooooo much to be thankful for this year! Hope everyone had a great holiday with their family and friends!!

What color is this??

Today I was taking down stuff in the girls' playroom to pack for the move (something we have not done nearly enough of) and Aly was saying the colors and shapes of the things I was taking down as I went. When I got to the yellow crayon, Aly screamed "YELLOW!!" Then Hannah, who had been listening quietly the whole time, yelled "LELLOW!!" It was sooooo cute! She was so proud of herself. I am going to have to take a video of it or something because there is just something about the way she says it...this post can not do it justice! More to come...

Parent/Teacher Conference

I had my first one as a 'parent' today! Being a teacher, it was different being on this side of the table for a change...and a little surreal (I still can't believe my baby is in pre-school)! It was fun though to hear her teachers talk about Aly. They said she is doing very well even though she has had some ups and downs recently. Her teachers said she interacts and plays well with her classmates...that really made me happy because it was something I worried about since she is so shy and timid. They also said she does very well cutting with scissors and make continuous motions. She is also holding her pencil correctly, but said we need to help her work on holding it lower so she has more control of it. Finally, they said she still needs to work on sequence when counting. They said she can count objects to ten if they point to them but has trouble on her own. I think some of that is being shy, because she can do it at home. We also talked about who she plays with in class and they said they girls she plays with the most, Audrey and Kendall, are good for her because one of them is quiet and shy like her and the other one is the opposite. We will have to have them over for a play date some time! It was pretty cute...and here is her class picture! Adorable.
Kendall is the one on her left and Audrey is two down on her right next to Miss Karen. The girl directly on the right is the one she said was mean to her :(

**As a side note, the PTO at her school is collecting "Box Tops for Education" to raise money for new, permanent playground equipment for them. They are on tons of items, so if you think about it, please cut them off of your boxes and save them for us!!**

Fall Photo Shoot

A good friend of ours from our small group took some pictures for us last month at Jeffery Mansion! I needed to have some taken for Hannah's 18-month birthday and we wanted to get some fun candids with all the beautiful the fall colors. The shoot itself was very painful...neither of the girls cooperated one bit! I didn't think we would get any good ones, but Kelley surprised me (I should not have doubted)...even though they weren't what I had in my head, some of them turned out great!! I can't wait to hang them in our NEW house!! Thanks Kelley...now you can have your baby anytime ;)

I guess we just won't get a family shot with Hannah smiling...

Kelley did a great job of capturing the girls' personalities! You will see what I mean as you look at these next few...

My favorite one of them together!

And, just because we haven't had any formal ones of just us taken in, ohhhh...7 YEARS...when we got married!!

I have them all on CD, so if you want one, let me know and I can email you the file so you can have it printed...or tell me which one and I will have it printed for you!
