I had my first one as a 'parent' today! Being a teacher, it was different being on this side of the table for a change...and a little surreal (I still can't believe my baby is in pre-school)! It was fun though to hear her teachers talk about Aly. They said she is doing very well even though she has had some ups and downs recently. Her teachers said she interacts and plays well with her classmates...that really made me happy because it was something I worried about since she is so shy and timid. They also said she does very well cutting with scissors and make continuous motions. She is also holding her pencil correctly, but said we need to help her work on holding it lower so she has more control of it. Finally, they said she still needs to work on sequence when counting. They said she can count objects to ten if they point to them but has trouble on her own. I think some of that is being shy, because she can do it at home. We also talked about who she plays with in class and they said they girls she plays with the most, Audrey and Kendall, are good for her because one of them is quiet and shy like her and the other one is the opposite. We will have to have them over for a play date some time! It was pretty cute...and here is her class picture! Adorable.
Kendall is the one on her left and Audrey is two down on her right next to Miss Karen. The girl directly on the right is the one she said was mean to her :(**As a side note, the PTO at her school is collecting "Box Tops for Education" to raise money for new, permanent playground equipment for them. They are on tons of items, so if you think about it, please cut them off of your boxes and save them for us!!**
