Here we go again...

there is an open Family and Consumer Sciences position in Gahanna. This time it is at Middle School South (the same one I went to...and the same one the girls will go to if we get this new house). Anyone who know us knows how much we want to teach in Gahanna, but I have put the thought of either one of us teaching there out of my mind since I have had the 'rug ripped out from under me' two twice and Dan didn't even get an interview after student teaching. I was thinking I didn't have a chance this time either, but yesterday the principal called me for an interview!! It is next Tuesday, right after school at 3:30. I am really nervous and trying not to get my hopes up, but every prayer would be greatly appreciated right now!!! I will let you all know how it goes! Maybe third time is a charm...

New House Hopes

So, since Schottenstein Homes 'ripped the rug' out from under us we started to look at all of our options. We looked at several existing homes and realized we are not cut out for that. There was only one we even liked and it was still missing some of the things we were looking for. Maybe we are just too picky. So then we looked at a few different builders. We finally decided that building was the right thing to do and to go with Westport Homes. We signed a contract with them tonight! It is exciting and scary all at the same time since we haven't sold ours yet and the market sucks! We have until the house gets into drywall to sell ours (which take about 4 months). We had a really interested couple come though two times last weekend and several couples who have 'just started looking' have liked it as well. I am being optimistic because I really want this new house! It is about the same size as ours now, but with a full basement and in Gahanna schools. Plus, we are locking in the rate for 180-days (basically until closing) at 4.5% fixed for 30 years and we get to pick out exactly what we want!! How amazing is that!?!?! It is a house we can be in for a really long time! I hope we get it! Pray hard!

You're going to do what?!?!?

Aly has been whining lately...alot! Yesterday she was whining and I told her she needed to stop or she was going to get a time out. Do you know what she told me?? You will never guess! She pointed her little finger at me and said, "I'm going to run away!" What the @$#%^??? Where in the world did she hear that?? Dan came in and I told him our daughter's weekend plans. Then, I asked her where exactly she was planning on going and she thought about it for a minute and then told me "Gahanna". So, my almost 3 year old daughter who can not even pee on the potty thinks she is going to run away from home, to Gahanna, to avoid a 3 minute time out. I burst out laughing...probably not the smartest thing to do because then she thought it was funny. I honestly don't know where she gets this stuff...maybe we need to limit her TV time! If she is threatening to run away at 3, what in the world is she going to do at 16?!?!?! We better start praying now...

Happy Easter!

Today was Hannah's very first Easter...even though she turned 1 a few weeks ago! She did not have an Easter during her whole first year because she was born the day after last year when Easter was really early and this year it was much later! Weird, huh?!? Not too many people can say that! We went to church last night and they looked sooo cute in their dresses. Of course they wouldn't let me take any pictures of them. The next morning Aly was really excited to see what the Easter Bunny had brought her, but was slightly disappointed her goodies were in a basket and not a pail like she had apparently asked for. Dang Easter Bunny...oh well. Both girls had a blast finding Easter Eggs and eating Candy...probably a little too much actually! Over all, it was a fun day and we are soooo thankful for the reason we celebrate!! Here are some other pictures from the festivities.

Hannah's Birthday Picture

There were only 3 poses that were worth buying since Hannah did not cooperate for the session. Here is the best one we got of her. Even though she is a butthead, she is still beautiful...and such a big girl!

Bye, Bye Blue...

...hello neutral! Yes, I'm nuts! I must be Behr's best customer! I know this is the 3rd time I have painted this room in the last 4 years. And yes, the room is actually shrinking in size from the layers of paint, but we needed another change! After all, paint is a cheap, fairly quick fix. Not only was I sick of the blue, I am hoping the new neutral decor (it's not white...it is a cream, called parchment paper) will make the room seem larger and insipre someone to buy it...

Spring Break!!!!!!!!!

It's finally here...the day I have been waiting for for a very long time...the beginning of SPRING BREAK! Even though we are not going anywhere, I desperately needed a break from my students and some time to spend quality time with the girls! Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can play outside a lot! I am also planning on taking them to COSI and taking Aly to see the movie "Monsters VS Aliens" (Don't worry...it is a Disney movie!). Hopefully we will also have some people look at our house! And maybe, just maybe, I will get to sleep until at least 7 am...

Now I can officially start the countdown to SUMMER vacation! See the countdown clock at the bottom of the page!! ;)
