Every year the Gahanna Fire and Police put on a phenomenal program for incoming Kindergartners called, 'Safety Town'. They teach the kids all about being safe in everyday life. From gun safety and stranger danger to bike riding and school bus etiquette. They even go through a fire evacuation simulation in a trailer the fire department brings in with artificial smoke.
Alyssa loved it! She learned a ton and was so proud of herself for doing all the stuff they did. At the end of the week they held a graduation for all the kids who participated in the program. They got to ride a bus from the elementary school to the high school, which are next door to each other, for the ceremony. Afterwards Aly told me it was so fun and that she is definitely riding the bus to school. I am not as excited about that idea, but I do feel better she has had some basic safety training.

She didn't take her eyes off of me and Hannah. She was so proud. So was Hannah...she kept yelling, "Hi Aly!" and "That's my sister." and "I love you Aly!"
